Lopez and Vazquez Talk EliteXC on SDS

Greg Savage and Jeff Sherwood are back for another episode of "The Savage Dog Show" on the Sherdog Radio Network. Joining them are EliteXC roving reporter Mario Lopez and a man he may interview on Saturday, lightweight fighter Javier Vazquez (Pictures).

If you grew up anywhere near a television in the 1990s you know the name AC Slater. Lopez played the smooth-talking, macho wresting captain at the fictional Bayside High School on "Saved by the Bell." In real life Lopez is a mixed martial arts fan who will finds himself working for Showtime's new MMA promotion EliteXC. Mario joins Greg and Jeff to talk about his affiliation with EXC and how long he has been a fan of MMA.

Who better to fight on Showtime's first MMA card than a fighter with the nickname "Showtime"? Vazquez steps into the cage for the first time since Nov. 14, 2003. Javier joins SDS to discuss his fight with Adriano Periera, his time off from active competition, and fighting on the newly formed promotion. "Showtime" even crtiques the shows on The Sherdog Radio Network.

Greg and Jeff read listener e-mail, do a round of "Word Bites," and introduce a new segment where listeners can win prizes called "Sound Bites."
