Alvarez Talks Win, Soutworth Previews Weekend Fight
Greg Savage and Jeff Sherwood are back on The Sherdog Radio Network for "The Savage Dog Show." Joining them are fighters Eddie Alvarez (Pictures) and The Ultimate Fighter 1 alum Bobby Southworth (Pictures).
Over the weekend Alvarez made a statement on bodogFIGHT's pay-per-view card in Vancouver, British Columbia by knocking out UFC veteran Aaron Riley (Pictures) 1:05 of the very first round. Alvarez talks about competing in bodogFIGHT,
winning the title at 170 pounds, and having his fight cut from the pay-per-view due to time restrictions. Eddie also speaks about his future in mixed martial arts, and how being passed up on a season of The Ultimate Fighter benifited him financially.
A candid Southworth joins Greg and Jeff to talk about a variety of things including his fight this weekend against Vernon "Tiger" White (Vernon White' class='LinkSilver'>Pictures) on the Strikeforce card at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
Southworth discusses his No Contest against James Irvin (Pictures) earlier this year, where Strikeforce ranks in the larger promotions in North America, and his experience on TUF 1, including his argument with UFC president Dana White
