The pace of Glover Teixeira turned out to be too much for Anthony Smith. The fight took a turn in Round 2 as Teixeira began to land left hooks that visibly rocked Smith. "Lionheart" would make it into the third round but would get dropped by the 40-year-old veteran. The Brazilian wound up landing damaging ground-and-pound until Smith was saved by the bell. Round 4 was more of the same, and the finish finally came in the final frame after Teixeira gained mount and unloaded punishing blows.
