Andy Souwer Forced to Withdraw From K-1 World MAX 2013 Quarter Final in Foshan

(PRESS RELEASE) -- BEIJING, On December 28th in Foshan, China Andy Souwer was originally slated to fight in the K-1 World MAX 2013 Quarter Final event against Enriko Kehl, but due to injuries, the fight will no longer be taking place. K-1 Global has been informed by Andy Souwer’s management that Andy Souwer came down with a case of appendicitis and was forced to undergo surgery to remove his appendix.

Souwer’s opponent, Enriko Kehl, has also been forced to withdraw from fighting on December 28th due to injuries sustained in a recent fight. Thankfully, Kehl’s injuries were not too severe and he is expected to participate instead in the K-1 World MAX 2013 Quarter Final in Gran Canaria on January 11th. K-1 officials are currently evaluating the options and will have news of a replacement fight for December 28th shortly.
