The Insane Prop Bets of UFC Fight Night 140

UFC Fight Night 140 was filled with interesting outcomes, with several bouts concluding in ways few saw coming. Below are five of the most insane prop bets to cash, as the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday visited Argentina for the first time:

Santiago Ponzinibbio Wins in Round 4 (+1575)

The biggest prop bet on the entire card to cash was in the headliner, with Ponzinibbio getting the win in the fourth round over Neil Magny. It looked like Ponzinibbio had numerous opportunities in the first three rounds to take out Magny, as he peppered him with brutal 1-2 combinations and leg kicks, but Magny managed to tough it out until the fourth. He could only take so much punishment, however, as Ponzinibbio hit him in a good spot and Magny faceplanted for a highlight-reel knockout that announced his arrival as a legitimate welterweight contender. The odds on Ponzinibbio winning in Round 4 hit at +1575.

Ricardo Lamas Wins in Round 3 (+1100)

Featherweight contender Lamas took it to Darren Elkins, as he battered his fellow Octagon veteran with punches and leg kicks until “The Damage” could not take it anymore, was forced to cover up and let the referee step in late in the third round. Lamas had never finished a fight in the third round in his entire MMA career -- until this bout against Elkins. The win reaffirms his place as a top-flight featherweight. The prop on Lamas winning in Round 3 cashed out at +1100.

Ian Heinisch Wins by Decision (+630)

Despite taking a fight on short notice against a ranked opponent, Heinisch proved the oddsmakers wrong and defeated Cezar Ferreira via unanimous decision. Since he was coming off of three straight knockouts prior to his UFC arrival, not many expected Heinisch to win by decision. However, he showed off a complete game with his striking and cardio advantages. The prop on him winning by decision hit at +630.

Michel Prazeres Wins in Round 1 (+675)

Arguably the most dominant performance on the entire card saw Prazeres burst out of the gate and finish Bartosz Fabinski just 62 seconds into their encounter. Prazeres knocked down Fabinski with a big, looping punch and then secured the guillotine choke for perhaps the most important win of his career to date. Prazeres has won eight fights in a row and looks like a serious dark horse contender at 170 pounds. Not only did the prop on Prazeres via submission cash at +510, but the prop in his winning in Round 1 hit at +675.

Austin Arnett Wins by Decision (+750)

One of the biggest upsets according to the odds came early on the prelims, as Arnett took home a unanimous decision over Humberto Bandenay. Considering Arnett had lost three fights in a row heading into this contest, it made sense why few had faith in his winning. Nevertheless, he managed to get the victory and scored as a +750 underdog.
