BetUS.com lists Kape as a -215 favorite ahead of the five-round headliner, with Almabayev as the +175 underdog. In the co-main event, Marquez is favored at -125, with Brundage coming back at -105.
Kape, 31, has rattled off five wins in six outings. The former Rizin Fighting Federation champion last suited up at UFC on ESPN 63, where he cut down Bruno Silva with a body kick and follow-up punches in the third round of their Dec. 14 encounter. Kape now owns a 5-3 record in the UFC. Almabayev, meanwhile, enters the Octagon on the strength of a 17-fight winning streak. The 31-year-old Kazakhstan native last saw action on Oct. 19, when he outpointed Matheus Nicolau to a three-round unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 245. Almabayev has not experienced a setback in almost eight years.
UFC Vegas 103 also features a lightweight tilt pairing Esteban Ribovics (-255) with Nasrat Haqparast (+205), a featherweight affair pitting William Gomis (-200) against Hyder Amil (+165) and a welterweight scrap matching Danny Barlow (-325) with Sam Patterson (+235). Heavyweights carry top billing on the undercard, as the undefeated Mario Pinto (-600) locks horns with Austen Lane (+400) in the featured prelim.
