Xiaonan Yan and Carla Esparza have the same destination in mind: a seat at the table with reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s strawweight titleholder Rose Namajunas.

The two 115-pound contenders will do battle in the UFC Fight Night 188 co-main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Yan has rattled off six straight victories, all by unanimous decision. She last appeared at UFC on ESPN 17, where she outpointed Claudia Gadelha across three rounds on Nov. 7. Esparza, meanwhile, finds herself on a four-fight winning streak. She last competed at UFC on ESPN 14 on July 25, when she eked out a split decision over Marina Rodriguez.

As Yan and Esparza make final preparations for their pivotal encounter, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

31: Years of age for Yan, who was born on June 16, 1989 in Shenyang, China—nearly 5,900 miles from Ultimate Fighting Championship headquarters.

6.42: Strikes landed per minute by Yan since she joined the UFC roster in 2017, placing her third on the promotion’s all-time list at 115 pounds. Only Jessica Andrade (6.88) and Joanna Jedrzejczyk (6.62) have connected at a more prolific clip.

29: Seconds needed by Yan to put away Jin Tang with punches in her Nov. 21, 2009 professional debut. It remains the fastest finish of her 14-fight career.

251: Significant strikes by which Yan has outlanded the opposition during her current six-fight winning streak. She has connected on 578 such strikes while absorbing only 327 in return.

3,901: Days since Yan suffered the only defeat on her resume. She submitted to a Karina Hallinan rear-naked choke at a Martial Combat event in September 2010. Yan has gone 11-0 with one no contest across 12 subsequent appearances.

33: Years of age for Esparza, who was born in Torrance, California, on Oct. 10, 1987. Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again” was the No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 list and “Fatal Attraction” was the No. 1 movie at the domestic box office at the time.

4: Submission wins on the Esparza resume, accounting for 24% of her career total (17). All four resulted from rear-naked chokes, as she throttled Hallinan, Namajunas, Yadira Anzaldua and Lacey Sears. Esparza owns three other wins by knockout or technical knockout and 10 more by decision.

.748: Cumulative winning percentage between the six women—Jedrzejczyk, Tatiana Suarez, Gadelha, Randa Markos, Jessica Aguilar and Megumi Fujii—who have defeated Esparza. They hold a combined record of 98-32-1.

4: Fighters other than Esparza who have captured the undisputed UFC women’s strawweight championship. The list: Namajunas (twice), Jedrzejczyk, Andrade and Weili Zhang. Esparza held the title from Dec. 12, 2014 to March 14, 2015.

2: Sub-minute finishes to Esparza’s credit. She disposed of Cassie Trost with punches in 48 seconds at Respect in the Cage 3 in February 2010 and submitted Anzaldua with a rear-naked choke in 53 seconds under the Evolution Combat Sports Championship banner in April 2011. Advertisement
