Preview: PFL World Tournament 6: Semifinals

The Prelims

Welterweight
Alan Dominguez (11-6) vs. Nicholas Meck (8-2)

Dominguez was on a three-fight win streak before he was stopped by Lorenz Larkin in his PFL debut last year. Meck, a Topeka, Kansas native, is 2-2 in his previous four but has never been stopped. Both fighters are looking for their first win in the PFL.

Lightweight
Brent Primus (16-4) vs. Alfie Davis (18-5-1)

Primus is one win away from going to his second straight PFL championship. The 40-year-old former Bellator champion is fresh off a third-round submission win, but faces a dangerously confident Alfie Davis. Davis put the tournament on notice when he brutally knocked out Clay Collard in the first round of the quarterfinals and will be gunning for Primus’ chin early.

Lightweight
Antonio Caruso (10-2) vs. Vinicius Sacchelli Cenci (10-3)

Caruso's first crack at the PFL fell short in the Challenger Series but the Australian lightweight is back following a pair of wins. Sacchelli Cenci PFL debut also ended in shambles at the hands of Brent Primus, but the Brazilian TKO product hopes he’ll find redemption in this alternate bout.

Lightweight
Darragh Kelly (7-0) vs. Mike Hamel (11-6)

SBG Ireland’s Kelly looks to stay undefeated throughout his pro campaign with a win over Arizona’s Hamel. Kelly has proven that he can win fights standing or on the ground, while Hamel hasn’t fought since 2023.

Bantamweight
Magomed “Tiger” Magomedov (20-4) vs. Sarvajon Khamidov (16-0)

Magomedov gave Patrick Mix all he could handle in his last time out and arguably should’ve gone home with the Bellator bantamweight title. With 10 submissions on his ledger, Magomedov poses a significant threat, capable of handing Khamidov his first loss. Khamidov has dynamite hands and is also a handful in the clinch, but is looking for a win over an established name.

Bantamweight
Matheus Mattos (14-4-1) vs. Lazaro Dayron (8-0-1)

Mattos is an explosive bantamweight that’s likely to finish his opponent or be finished himself, while Dayron has yet to taste defeat. The Miami native drew with Danny Sabatello in his last time out and showed that he’s ready for a step up in competition.

Women’s Flyweight
Jena Bishop (8-2) vs. Ekaterina Shakalova (9-2) Former Jiu Jitsu world champion Jena Bishop has focused on improving her striking, but she’ll get to rely on her bread and butter against fellow submission artist Shakalova. Both flyweights can mix it up but prefer to do their business on the canvas.

Women’s Flyweight
Saray Orozco (8-6) vs. Illara Joanne (12-10-0)

Orozco hopes to wash the sour taste of a split decision loss out of her mouth with a bounce-back win over the battle-tested Joanne. Joanne has lost four of her last five but has shared the smart cage against the likes of Taila Santos, Liz Carmouche and Jena Bishop.
