Leandro Gomes put away Phuket Fight Club’s Milad Hosseini with punches in the third round of their flyweight feature. Hosseini (0-1, 0-1 ONE) succumbed to unanswered punches 2:47 into Round 3.
Gomes (5-1, 1-0 ONE) was virtually flawless in his promotional debut. He called upon bulletproof takedown defense, clean one-twos, outside kicks to the calf and inside kicks to the thigh. Gomes dialed up a flying knee in the first round, flexed his superiority in open space and hit the accelerator as soon as the situation called for it. He surprised Hosseini with a takedown in Round 3, floated between the back and full mount, applied his ground-and-pound and returned to his feet after being reversed. Gomes then doubled up on rolling right hooks, corralled his counterpart in the corner and unleashed his hands until the job was done.
The 21-year-old Gomes has rattled off four straight victories.
