Askren is coming off a five-second knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 239, which was his first loss as a pro. In his Octagon debut, he submitted Robbie Lawler at UFC 235. Maia, meanwhile, is on a two-fight winning streak after dropping three in a row from July 2017 to May 2018.
