3. Georges St. Pierre


St. Pierre was a force of nature in his prime and plastered his name all across the Ultimate Fighting Championship record book. No other fighter has appeared in more title bouts (12) -- an unprecedented run of sustained excellence that led to his five hours, 28 minutes and 12 seconds of total fight time inside the Octagon.

The cornerstone of the Tristar Gym camp in Montreal, St. Pierre owns victories over many of his contemporaries. They include Nick Diaz, Johny Hendricks, Carlos Condit, Josh Koscheck (twice), Jake Shields, Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves and B.J. Penn (twice). He also avenged the only two defeats on his resume, beating both Matt Hughes and Matt Serra in subsequent rematches. Lauded as a brilliant tactician, St. Pierre remains the UFC’s all-time leader in total strikes landed (2,523) and takedowns executed (87) while ranking second in victories (19).

A two-time UFC welterweight champion, St. Pierre vacated the title after edging Hendricks in a controversial split decision in November 2013 and has not fought since.
