4. Bas Rutten vs. Jason DeLucia
Pancrase “Truth 6”
June 25, 1996 | Fukuoka, Japan

The third time was not the charm for DeLucia, as Rutten had already taken care of the UFC 1 and UFC 2 alum twice before in Pancrase, first with a guillotine choke and later with a heel hook. To cap off their trilogy, Rutten did everything in his power to make sure DeLucia would not seek out another fight against him.

Rutten rocked his rival with a savage right roundhouse kick to the ribs a few minutes into their battle at the Fukuoka Kokusai Center. From there, “El Guapo” attacked the body almost exclusively, digging lefts and rights into DeLucia whenever the opportunity arose. To his credit, DeLucia continued to fight even after being dropped. Finally, almost nine minutes into what was a vicious beating, a wicked combination downstairs floored the Bellingham, Mass., native for good. He was left to writhe in pain on the canvas, having fallen to Rutten for a third time.
