5. ‘Rampage’ on the Rampage


Quinton Jackson in 2008 was arrested for rampaging through Southern California in his new Ford F-350. He smashed his truck, which bore his likeness, into a parked vehicle and then collided with at least two other automobiles while being pursued by police.

Authorities chased “Rampage” through several red lights, even after Jackson’s truck blew a tire. The pursuit did not lost too long. As seen on camera, Jackson was handcuffed, arrested at gunpoint and taken into custody. “Rampage” was at the peak of his popularity in the Ultimate Fighting Championship at the time, and UFC President Dana White quickly went into damage control. He asserted that his fighter had suffered through a bout of “delirium” after not eating or sleeping for days and consuming too much of an energy drink.

“Rampage” claimed years later that he had been driving like a madman because he was rushing to aid a close friend who was contemplating suicide. However, when Jackson first spoke to the media about the chase, he said he had heard the voice of God fighting with the devil and that he needed to rush to his friend, who had “lost his faith” in God.
