Is Parisyan in
the UFC's doghouse?
Parisyan Flunks Drug Test

Welterweight contender Karo Parisyan tested positive for three banned substances -- the painkillers Hydrocodone, Hydromorophe and Oxymorphone -- in tests taken prior to his win over Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 94 on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas. A disciplinary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 17.

Parisyan, 26, has battled a myriad of mental and physical health problems and told commission officials he was taking the pain medicine for hamstring and back injuries, according to MMAWeekly.com. In addition, Parisyan told MMAWeekly.com he had prescriptions for the drugs, but it appears he informed the commission about them much too late to have a bearing on his penalty. His victory against Kim could be overturned. Parisyan has since been rumored for a fight against Josh Koscheck in May.

The three painkillers for which Parisyan tested positive are powerful, potently addictive and normally reserved for treating severe pain.
