The mercurial Sanchez has produced consistently excellent material since winning Season 1 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” A five-time “Fight of the Night” winner, his non-stop motor and indomitable will has led to memorable encounters with judo black belt Karo Parisyan, Xtreme Couture Mixed Martial Arts export Martin Kampmann and former Strikeforce champions Nick Diaz and Clay Guida. Sanchez, a state wrestling champion in high school, has posted 12 victories in the UFC, tying him with Michael Bisping and Rashad Evans for 11th on the all-time list. A standout in two weight classes, the 30-year-old Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts representative fought B.J. Penn for the lightweight crown in 2009 before returning to his more familiar welterweight haunts. Stopped on a fifth-round cut, it remains the only time in his career that he has been finished.
