Faber's next step

The next step for WEC poster boy Urijah Faber came somewhat into focus this week. The California Kid is expected to fight on a Jan. 25 WEC event in San Diego, and several sources reported this week that Faber will face Jens Pulver in a rematch of the most-watched fight in WEC history on the card.

WEC featherweight champion Mike Thomas Brown, who dethroned Faber on Nov. 5, said on HDNet’s "Inside MMA" this week that his next fight would either be a rematch with Faber or a title defense against Leonard Garcia. Garcia is coming off a decisive win over Pulver. Also on Jan. 25, a lightweight title fight is expected between champ Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone.
