Diaz does not have a lengthy list of jiu-jitsu accomplishments about which to brag. Nevertheless, his ground game translates beautifully to MMA. In fact, his submission skills have proven more productive in the cage than his older brother’s.

“The Ultimate Fighter” Season 5 winner without question ranks among the most exciting fighters ever to compete in MMA, and Diaz currently holds the record for most post-fight bonuses in UFC history with 14. Five of those 14 bonuses have been “Submission of the Night” awards, and his rear-naked choke submission on featherweight champion Conor McGregor at UFC 196 earned him “Performance of the Night” honors. Diaz ranks second on the UFC’s all-time list in submission victories with nine. Throughout his career, he has forced these notable fighters to tap: McGregor, Jim Miller, Takanori Gomi, Melvin Guillard, Kurt Pellegrino and Marcus Davis.
