10. Mark Kerr vs. Greg Stott
UFC 15 “Collision Course”
Oct. 17, 1997 | Bay St. Louis, Mississippi

Kerr was well into his run as “The Smashing Machine” and destroying everybody in his path. An NCAA national champion wrestler at Syracuse University, he had mopped the floor with the opposition in the World Vale Tudo Championship 3 tournament in Brazil and then laid waste to Moti Horenstein and Dan Bobish at UFC 14. By then, those running the Ultimate Fighting Championship knew they had something special on their hands.

Enter Stott, a former Army Ranger who said he had trained in wrestling, wing chun, boxing and jiu-jitsu. He sounded excited at the prospect of starting his MMA career against Kerr and claimed he was “going to show the world why the Rangers belong in the Octagon.”

For a short time, Stott proved his point. However, Kerr connected with cantaloupe-crushing knee that ended the fight -- and Stott’s MMA career -- just 17 seconds after it began.
