Ranking the PFL Fighters: Featherweights

Andre Harrison

2. Andre Harrison

When the PFL kicked off its inaugural season in New York City, Harrison was front and center on the promotional billboards around The Big Apple. The former WSOF and Titan Fighting Championship titleholder did not have a blemish on his record and was the favorite to become the Season 1 winner. “The Bull” reached the semifinals but picked up his first career loss at the hands of his rival and eventual season winner Lance Palmer. How Harrison will respond to his first career loss remains a mystery. The Bellmore Kickboxing Academy standout is a technically sound striker who likes to switch stances often and slide into the pocket where he excels. He constantly darts his head off of the centerline, making him hard to hit while he fires off accurate and powerful hooks and uppercuts. He digs the body well with punches and has a strong arsenal of kicks. Two major flaws in his game: He can tend to have a low output and can play it safe if he believes he is ahead on the judges’ scorecards, keeping his opponents in fights instead of taking them out. The 31-year-old was an NCAA All-American at the Division II level. He uses his offensive wrestling against less-superior grapplers, but his defense really stands out. He has fought in several championship bouts, which shows he has the ability to go deep into fights. Harrison is still one of the favorites to win the million-dollar check, but his lack of finishing ability gives many observers pause.
