2. Josh Emmett vs. Jeremy Stephens
UFC on Fox 28
Feb. 24 | Orlando, Florida

Emmett’s next step is a perilous one. The Team Alpha Male export left the lightweight division in 2017, moved to 145 pounds and has gone 2-0 since. Emmett announced his arrival as a featherweight contender in the UFC on Fox 26 co-main event in December, when he knocked out Ricardo Lamas with a picture-perfect left hook. The 32-year-old Californian still must prove he can meet the 146-pound threshold on a consistent basis, as he missed weight by 2.5 pounds for his showdown with Lamas and had to forfeit 30 percent of his purse. Stephens faces a quick turnaround after he disposed of Doo Ho Choi with punches and elbows in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 124 headliner on Jan. 14. His 27 appearances under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner rank third on the promotion’s all-time list, tying him with Gleison Tibau, Demian Maia, Frank Mir, Diego Sanchez and Tito Ortiz.
