Sherdog’s Top 10: Most Aggressive Fighters

Aggressiveness is a precious quality in a mixed martial artist. The willingness to do violence to one’s opponent while taking his or her best shot is at the heart of what makes for a great fighter, or at least a beloved one. The ability to show a consistent aggressive streak without simply winging punches and hoping for the best is even less common.

The latest installment in the Sherdog Top 10 series focuses on those paragons of violent aggressiveness. Raw commitment to violence was the major criterion, naturally, but so, too, was the effective application of that aggression -- sorry, Leonard Garcia. The top pick was unanimous, but panelists named far too many outstanding candidates for any top-10 list to ever encompass, so be sure to check the honorable mentions for the best of the rest.

Number 10 » During the prime of his career, this all-time great embodied the principle of ice-cold, calculated aggression. Every facet of his polished, complete game focused on ending the fight quickly and in violent fashion, whether that opportunity came at range, in the clinch or on the ground.
