Glory announced Thursday afternoon a new headliner to its Chicago event’s Super Fight Series. Fan favorite Joe Schilling will take on Mike Lemaire on short notice, adding a sizeable name to an already stacked Glory 27 event.

Lemaire (14-2, 7 KOs) was originally supposed to compete in the evening’s four-man North American Middleweight Contender Tournament. But with the card needing a headliner for the popular Super Fight Series, Schilling (20-6, 12 KOs) took the fight on just two weeks’ notice.

“Schilling stepped up on short notice to headline the Super Fight Series, adding another fantastic fight to an already strong card,” said Glory CEO Jon Franklin. “Being able to add a fighter of Joe's caliber to this event is a special treat for the fans. It's a credit to Mike Lemaire for recognizing this opportunity and seizing it as well.”

Filling in for the Californian in the bracket will be Glory newcomer Karl Roberson, who will face Dustin Jacoby in the opening round of the one-night tournament. The other match will see Wayne Barrett taking on Robert Thomas.

Glory 27 is slated to be headlined by the grudge match between two of the world’s best at middleweight: Glory champion Artem Levin and challenger Simon Marcus. The co-featured battle will see featherweight banger Giga Chikadze taking on Kevin VanNostrand.

Glory 27 goes down on Friday, Feb. 26 inside the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., just outside of Chicago. The main card will be televised live on ESPN3 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The official air time of the Super Fight Series will be announced shortly.
