Eubank Jr. to Fight Former World Champ Abraham on July 15

One of boxing’s most polarizing figures, Chris Eubank Jr. will climb through the ropes on July 15 to take on former world champion Arthur Abraham. The two will lock horns at SES Arena in London, England, and the action will be televised in America live on pay-per-view.

Eubank (24-1, 19 KOs) has captured a British and interim middleweight title in his career, but has yet to achieve his ultimate goal of hoisting a world title. Since losing on points to Billie Joe Saunders nearly three years ago, Eubank has won six in a row, all by knockout. He expects to do the same against Abraham when they meet for a minor super middleweight title.

“Abraham is a strong, come forward fighter,” Eubank Jr., the son of former WBO super middleweight king Chris Eubank, said. “But he's one-dimensional. He's very good in that one dimension, but a one-dimensional fighter cannot beat me. I see a lot of holes in his game and I'm going to exploit those holes ruthlessly.”

Abraham (46-5, 30 KOs) has taken on everybody that matters at 160 and 168 pounds in his career. “King” Arthur has beaten the likes of Martin Murray, Jermain Taylor, Edison Miranda and Raul Marquez. He snagged the IBF middleweight title back in ’05 and defended it nine times before moving up to super middleweight. The Armenian native won the WBO super middleweight crown on two occasions but lost it to Gilberto Ramirez in April 2016. He’s since won two in a row

“I will make sure that I'm in top shape and ready to secure a great victory,” Abraham remarked. “I know Chris Eubank, Jr. is a good fighter, like his dad. I'm expecting a tough fight, but I am confident I will beat him.”

Also set to appear on the televised portion of the bill will be a showdown between IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby (24-1, 9 KOs) and challenger Jonathan Victor Barros (41-4-1, 22 KOs).

The action will be televised live in the U.S. on pay-per-view for $24.95. The card will begin at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT.
