M-1 Global announced on Thursday that Ramazan Emeev will defend his middleweight title against Anatoly Tokov in the main event of M-1 Challenge 73 “Battle of Narts.” The action will down on Dec. 9 in Ingushetia, Russia, and will be streamed live on M1Global.tv.

“The fight between Ramazan Emeev and Anatoly Tokov is the most anticipated fight in Russian MMA,” M-1 Global president Vadim Finkelchtein said. “Both Tokov and Emeev are fighters of the elite level, not only in Russia, but in the world. This fight is being held to achieve our main goal: to make the most spectacular matchups between the strongest MMA fighters of our time.”

Emeev is ready to assume his position as the promotion’s king at 185 pounds. He had to withdraw from the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship against Alexander Shlemenko earlier in the year due to a torn ligament in his elbow. He last fought at M-1 Challenge 65 in April, when he submitted Maiquel Falcao in the first.

Tokov, meanwhile, has won 17 consecutive battles with eight coming via knockout and four by way of submission. A veteran of Rizin FF and EFN, Tokov has also scored knockouts in M-1and looks to add to his impressive winning streak by snatching Emeev’s title from him.

More bouts will be announced for M-1 Challenge 73 in the coming weeks.
