Cat Zingano Discusses Ronda Rousey and Her Plans to Fight This Year on "Inside MMA"

(PRESS RELEASE) -- LOS ANGELES – When will UFC bantamweight Cat Zingano return to the octagon? Although no fight is set, the veteran fighter said on AXS TV’s INSIDE MMA tonight she plans to fight again this year. Also during her interview with series host Bas Rutten and guest host Ron Kruck, who filled in for Kenny Rice, Zingano discussed recovering from her loss to UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey last February and described how she is preparing to begin her next training camp:

Also on tonight’s show, Rice caught up with famed coaches Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn at their newly opened gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico for in-depth look at the facility and to discuss their coaching roster, including former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. The full feature is available in two parts here:

Part Two -

Keeping up with the coaching theme, INSIDE MMA invited Javier Mendez from the American Kickboxing Academy and Rafael Cordeiro from Kings MMA to the studio for the show’s recurring opinion segment, the “Not-So Neutral Corner.” In this clip, the group weighs in on topics such as training camp injuries, coaches taking the blame for their fighter’s losses, UFC fighter Nick Diaz’s suspension and more:

In the two title fights on AXS TV FIGHTS: LION FIGHT 24 tonight, Super Welterweight Champion Jo Nattawut (55-5-2) defended his belt, knocking out challenger Charlie Peters (32-14) with elbows and Ognjen Topic (16-5) won a unanimous decision over Stephen Meleady (38-19) to claim the vacant lightweight title.

Other highlights include headliner Ky Hollenbeck’s (32-3-1) technical decision over Richard Abraham (7-3)—doctors stopped the fight in the fourth round due to a cut Hollenbeck sustained in a clash of heads—and spinning back elbows from Gaston Bolanos (5-0) and Chris Mauceri (8-2) to knock out their opponents. AXS TV Fights commentators Pat Miletich and “The Voice” Michael Schiavello” break down tonight’s action in the highlight clip here:
