Urijah Faber to Lock Horns with Brad Picket at UFC on Fox 22

The Ultimate Fighting Championship revealed Tuesday afternoon that one of its most popular fighters will be fighting at home in December. Former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight champion Urijah Faber will take on Brad Pickett in one of the featured bouts of UFC on Fox 22, the last Fox-televised UFC show of the year.

The Sacramento Bee was the first media outlet to report the matchup.

Faber will be aiming to break his current two-fight losing streak. Once one of the most feared “little guys” in the sport, “The California Kid” is coming off a decision loss to Jimmie Rivera at UFC 203 and has dropped three of his last four bouts overall, including a points loss to rival Dominick Cruz for the UFC’s bantamweight title.

Pickett, meanwhile, is just as desperate as his American counterpart as the U.K. slugger is drowning in a whirlpool that has seen him lose four of his last five bouts. “One Punch” was submitted via triangle choke in the first to the legs of Iuri Alcantara at UFC 204 earlier this month and a win over Faber is paramount.

UFC of Fox 22 will be headlined by popular crossover fighter Paige VanZant continuing her post-“Dancing with the Stars” stint by colliding with Michelle Waterson. Also set for the marquee will be Mickey Gall taking on polarizing Sage Northcutt in a matchup of young lions while Alan Jouban will oppose Mike Perry. Bryan Barberena will square off with Colby Covington as well.

UFC on Fox 22 will take place at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif. and will be televised live on both UFC Fight Pass and Fox.
