Roy Jones (6-1, 0-0 SF) vs. Derrick Mehmen (11-3, 0-0 SF)
The Matchup: Mehmen has a wrestling background and has fought far better competition training out of American Top Team. Jones’ opponents are fairly nondescript, even for a guy with just seven fights under his belt.
In addition to tests against significantly better competition, Mehmen is going against a striking-oriented opponent who has secured all his wins in less than two minutes. Going into the longest fight of one’s career against a wrestler like Mehmen seems like a bad combination.
The Pick: Mehmen will dominate with takedowns, improve to a dominant position and pound out Jones in the first round.
