dispatched of Dustin
Hazelett with second round punches to finalize the UFC
117 prelims at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.
Story (11-3) abused Hazelett (12-6) while taking a lopsided first round, and then put him away at the 1:15 mark of the second frame with punches. Violence was the tone of the showdown, as Story stayed in tight and unloaded his fists until Hazelett was forced to shoot a desperate takedown. Story sprawled on the shot and unloaded with punches on the downed fighter until referee Josh Rosenthal declared that he had seen enough.
It was Story’s fourth consecutive win in the Octagon since dropping his debut to John Hathaway at UFC 99 in June 2009.
