Ricco
Rodriguez, on “The Savage
Dog Show,” discussing longtime teammate Tito Ortiz’s
win over Ryan Bader
and his future:
“Ryan Bader was right there for top contendership for the belt. Jon Jones beat him to get the opportunity. That puts Tito right back into the ballgame. I think that’s important. Tito came out with confidence. He came out with power. He pulled a sub. I’ve always said this with Tito a thousand times: stop going out there and trying to please the fans. His submission wrestling is phenomenal. It always has been. Look at the guys he’s worked with. He took third in Abu Dhabi and he didn’t even train. He said I’m going to go out there and have fun. Just for fun he took third. That’s how much of a great wrestler and submission wrestler he is. He has the skills. He almost tapped out [Lyoto] Machida. He’s still in there. He’s not out of the game. I guarantee you -- I know Tito -- he will win that belt one last time.”
