The Brazilian fighter was able to compete in front of the fans that watched him devastate opponents in the Pride ring in what for all intents and purposes was a homecoming. In that return “The Axe Murderer” was able to remind the Japanese fans firsthand on what made him legendary in mixed martial arts.
