Ed Soares, on “Beatdown,” dismissing speculation that Anderson Silva threw his fight against Chris Weidman:
“People are saying that he purposely lost the fight. If he wanted to purposely lose the fight, why wouldn’t he have just tapped in the first round when Chris had him in that kneebar? If it was planned to lose the fight -- everybody was saying Chris was going to submit him -- why wouldn’t he have just tapped there? Instead he’s going to choose to get knocked out? Come on. People are really digging to try to find something.”
